“Bunty Miller never had a painting lesson in her life, yet for twenty-nine consecutive years she exhibited two or three pictures in the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition.  Her achievement is remarkable because she was not a Royal Academician and, therefore, her pictures always had to come before a Selection Committee and compete against some twelve thousand entries for less than two thousand places.

Today her paintings are virtually beyond price because all were commissioned or sold at the start of the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition and no owner can be persuaded to sell.”
